HP Envy 5055
The Envy series itself was designed to impress onlookers with its sleek and charming design. The HP Envy 5055 doesn’t disappoint in terms of looks or performance. It can print borderless photos, and text with astounding clarity and a brilliant resolution. The front panel of the printer has a mono-LCD control panel, a power button, a Wireless icon and buttons to navigate through the menu. The feed below can hold about a 100 sheets of standard A4 sheets and automatically print on both sides of the paper automatically. There’s no Automatic Document Feeder which is not surprising since the Envy 5055 is a steal for a low price. The software drivers for this printer can be downloaded from 123.hp.com/setup 5055.

Open the box and remove all the items that you see on top. This would include the power cord, cartridges and some packaging material. The tri-colour cartridge will have a card attached to it that will help you choose the right kind of cartridges once the current ones run out of ink.
Lay the cardboard box on the flat surface and drag the printer out of the box using the handles on the transparent cover.
Keep aside the Installation guide, Getting started poster and the Installation CD that came along with the printer. You can also use the Installation CD to install the software drivers instead of downloading the software from hp.com/setup 5055
Peel away all the blue tapes on the printer and remove all the packaging materials in the scanner area, ink cartridge access area.
Pull out the Paper tray. Remove packaging material if any and push the paper width guides away from each other.
Your printer can now be powered on.
HP Envy 5055 Ink Cartridge Installation
Before installing the ink cartridges, the printer must be switched on. In order to switch on the printer, take the power cord and connect one end to the rear of the printer and the other end into the wall outlet. Avoid the usage of power strips as they might cause power issues to the printer. Finally, press the power button to switch on the printer and wait for it to finish initializing. If you’ve already installed the ink cartridges and loaded the paper, you can jump to the software driver installation section that tells you how t download and install the software drivers from 123.hp.com/setup 5055
Select the language and the region in which the printer is located.
The printer now asks you to install the ink cartridges. Open the ink access area below the scanner area.
Unwrap the HP 61 tri-colour cartridge and peel away the transparent covering using the orange pull-tab. Take care to not touch the copper-coloured contacts or the ink nozzles.
Open the lid of the ink cartridge slot and insert the cartridge into the slot such that it snaps into place.
Repeat the same procedure for the black cartridge.
Now, you can load paper into the printer and align it.
HP Envy 5055 Printer Alignment
To align the printer, paper must first be loaded into it. The printer automatically asks to load a batch of unused papers as soon as the cartridges have been installed. Once the paper has been loaded onto the tray, the printer automatically prints out a test page which should be scanned to complete the alignment process. The alignment process is important because it tells the printer where to spray the ink for the best quality. After you’ve loaded the paper and finished with the Wireless Setup Wizard, you can download and install the software from 123.hp.com/setup 5055
Pull out the paper Tray and align a stack of papers on a hard surface.
Insert the stack of papers into the tray and adjust the paper width guides such that they just touch the edges of the paper.
Push the tray back in and wait for the printer to print out a test page.
Once the test page is printed, the control panel will ask you to scan it.
Open the scanner glass lid and using the markings on the sides, place the paper print side down on the scanner glass.
Close the scanner lid and press OK to finish the scanning process.

The Wireless Setup Wizard acts as a bridge between your printer and your network and helps your printer to connect with the network. Collect your network name (SSID) and password before beginning with the setup process. After this step, you can download the software drivers from 123.hp.com/setup 5055
Touch the Wireless icon and press the (-) button.
Scroll through the list by using the arrow keys and touch the Wireless Setup Wizard.
